Gasmetâ„¢ CMM (Continuous Mercury Monitor) is designed for continuous & unattended monitoring of total mercury (Hg) in flue gas.

The Gasmetâ„¢ CMM utilizes Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence (CVAF) measurement technology which is specific to mercury. Hence there is virtually no interference from SO2 or HCl. In a CVAF spectrometer, intense radiation in UV range from a mercury lamp is directed to the sample gas. Fluorescence of atomic mercury in the sample gas is then measured at the same wavelength enabling exceptionally low detection limits.

Gasmet CMM (Continuous Mercury Monitor) has been designed specifically for power plants & waste incinerators. It features a CVAF spectrometer with integrated high temperature converter to effectively transform different mercury compounds to elemental mercury, and calibration unit for automatic calibrations both with elemental mercury and mercury chloride. When compared with other methods for mercury monitoring, Gasmet CMM has among other the following benefits:

  • No need for special chemicals, gold amalgamation concentrators, acid scrubbers, or additional gases.
  • Virtually no interference from other gases such as SO2, HCl.

High sensitivity of the spectrometer and integrated high temperature converter allow the sample gas to be diluted with no need for complex sample conditioning system.
